What is the difference between entering as a swim group or as a team ?
What is a swim group :
Your group could be a SLS club, a formal or informal swim group or squad (for example: Bondi Salties, Swim Lab, Coobraas, BOSS Squad, Neil Rogers Squad, Vladswim, etc).
  • There's no limit to the number in a group, in fact, the more the better as the point is to be the biggest group.
  • Participants can be fast or slow and swim in any wave category, including 'fins, floaties, family & friends' category.
  • To register it's as simple as answering the question about swim groups on your entry form.
  • The swim group competition is calculated on the largest number of entrants from the same group.
What is a team :
A team is comprised of 4 people, entered into the 2.2km Bondi to Bronte Swim , noting their nominated team name on their individual entry with a combined age that fits into one of the categories below.
  • The team members swim individually, as fast as they can! and their cumulative time is calculated by the timing company at the end of the swim.
  • The team with the fastest combined time in each age category are the winners and will each receive a prize.
 To Enter a team :
  • Decide on who your swimmers will be and add all the ages together to determine your age category :

    • Under 90 - combined ages total 52 - 89 years
    • 90+ yrs - combined ages total 90 - 129yrs
    • 130+ yrs - combined ages total 130 - 149yrs
    • 150+ yrs - combined ages total 150 - 199 yrs
    • 200+ yrs - combined ages total 200 or more

  • Choose a team name - all team members must use the same team name.
  • Include your team name in your individual B2B entry form.
  • You can enter a team whether you are part of a swim group or not.
  • You can only enter as a team of 4 people! Your entry won't be considered if you're not a team of 4 in total (no more, no less).

It's also good to know that entering as a swim group or team doesn't mean you'll be swimming together. If you'd like to swim with a friend or family member, this is possible for the 2.2km course in the “fins, floaties, family & friends” division.
